The Star of the Reef Starfish is a 300-piece wooden jigsaw puzzle for adults from Woodbests' Masterpiece Reserve Edition, part of the Azure Dreams Collection Vol. 1. Finished size: 51.2 × 50.7 cm (20.2 × 20.0 in). Recommended for ages 14+.
A golden starfish spreads five arms across a reef packed with jeweled shells, sea urchins and swaying weed. Coral pink, teal and cobalt gather around it like stones in a mosaic.
Why the Star of the Reef Starfish stands out
- Backside sections: Section guides on the reverse break the dense reef into smaller goals; use them for a two-hour session or to solve the busiest corners.
- Oversized pieces: Up to three times larger than standard puzzle pieces, so the tiny urchins and shell ridges stay legible in the hand.
- More than 40 whimsy pieces: Starfish, shells and urchins are cut as shaped pieces at a rate of roughly one in eight.
- Achievement Tracker Plate: A wooden plate for your name, date, time and difficulty rating turns the finished puzzle into a keepsake.
- Wooden reference board and flip-top box: Prop the board up while you sort, then close the flip-top box for storage.
- Jewel-box color: Coral pink, teal and gold are printed with enough saturation to keep the reef from flattening.
The story behind the artwork
The starfish came first: five arms drawn one at a time, each with its own pattern of bumps and lines. The reef was then built around it like a setting for a gem, filling every gap with shells and weed. Hand-drawn linework keeps the mosaic feeling handmade; AI-assisted color pushes the contrast between coral, teal and gold.

Display it, gift it, keep it
This is the extrovert of the collection: bright, dense and full of small rewards. It suits a sunroom, kitchen or hallway where the light can pick out the gold and coral, and the shaped outline looks best in a white or pale wood frame that lets the silhouette show. Give it to someone who loves the sea, collects shells or has already worked through the usual rectangular puzzles.
